The first Farm-to-Fork speakers series event of 2016 will include local beer tastings, a keynote presentation from Sierra Nevada founder Ken Grossman and a brewers’ panel discussion. The event will be held on the ticketing level of SMF’s Terminal B, and ten local breweries will be onsite offering free flights of beer, along with Farm-to-Fork appetizers provided by Airport restaurants. The event is free with registration, and $15 bus transportation to and from the event from Davis and downtown Sacramento will be offered.
The America’s Farm-to-Fork Capital Speakers Series aims to shine a light on the food system and the agricultural issues that are impacting our communities and the rest of the world. Once the Beer Capital of the West, the Sacramento region’s beer scene is exploding to include reportedly more than 40 area breweries. The region’s massive rice crop also helps to fuel national brands like Budweiser. Guests at the event will have the opportunity to hear from some of the beer industry’s leaders about the challenges they face and what lies ahead.
